“From earth to light”
The artist Dimitris Kouros was born in 1957 in the city of Tripoli, the capital of the prefecture of Arcadia in the central part of the Peloponnese, in Greece. Since his teenage, he discovers and explores the magic world of painting, his great adventure in light and colors.
He studied in the Faculty of Fine Arts of Tinos and in the School of Fine Arts in Athens and went in Paris on a scholarship.
He has worked on the painting modules “Orphic”, “Philoctetes”, “Nature and soul”. He has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad.
He has sculpture the busts of benefactors of Tripoli, Chantzi George and Dimitrios Athanasiadis, the hero of 1940’s Socrates Kallitsis, the former Mayor of Tripoli Minister Tassos Sechiotis and a large bronze sculpture/repousse depict Langadia’s craftsmen is in the entrance of the city of Lagadia in Arcadia.
His art works are in private collections and public places in Greece, France, USA, Japan and Canada.
His poetry collection titled “The Passing” was published in collaboration with the Group Polyekfrasis “Elefsis”.
